Naomi Stephens

Naomi Stephens is Acting Executive Director of Park Operations, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. She leads the eight operations branches across NSW responsible for the on-the-ground management of more than 7 million hectares of land in national parks and reserves.

Naomi has worked for two decades at the coalface of conservation and incident management. Naomi has held a number of senior executive roles, including Director of the Future NPWS restructure program, Director Fire and Incident Management and her current role.

Naomi is recognised within state and federal fire and emergency response circles as an expert in her field. In her substantive capacity as Director Fire and Incident Management, Naomi is a member of the NSW Bushfire Coordinating Committee and represents NPWS on the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC), the AFAC Rural Land Management Group and the National Forest Fire Management Group. She is a Director on the Board of the Bushfire Natural Hazard Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) and a Lead End User Representative for the Prescribed Burning Cluster research program under the CRC.

Naomi holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons Physical Geography) from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Environmental Planning from Macquarie University.
