Research Australia

Nadia Levin

Nadia Levin joined Research Australia as its CEO and Managing Director in January 2016. Her career has included working across complex and highly regulated environments, and subject to high public scrutiny.

Previously, Nadia was a senior executive at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation. As part of the Executive Leadership Team, she held the position of General Manager across a portfolio that included Government, International and External Relations.

Nadia successfully integrated these functions to drive greater responsiveness of the opportunities and challenges faced by a multi- disciplinary research organisation in both a local and international setting. Her role included providing advice to the Board and Executive Leadership team on strategic positioning and delivery of multi-channel engagement programs to reach and influence Local and Federal Government, research partners, international counterparts, industry and community stakeholders. Successfully translating the impact of research, discovery and innovation into collective opportunities was a major focus along with the importance of maintaining sustainable landmark research infrastructure.

Prior to this, Nadia Levin held roles that saw her working in both the public and private sectors, as well as in an advisory role to a Federal Government Minister. Nadia is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She was a Director of the Australian Synchrotron Board until 2015 and is currently on the Board of New Zealanders for Health Research. Nadia has joined the Male Champions of Change Health Group to assist in elevating gender equality as an issue of national and international social and economic importance. She is also PHD mentor in The Industry Mentoring Network in STEM (IMNIS) programme.
