Mal McHutchison has over 20 years’ experience leading organisations in telco, finance, technology and services sectors. With both domestic and global experience, Mal has a notable track record growing businesses.
He is currently CEO of Interactive Pty Ltd, of one of Australia’s largest IT services companies. Listed in AFR’s Top 350 Privately Owned Companies, Interactive is a business with revenues approaching $200m and a footprint of 20,000 client sites across 2,100 businesses in A/NZ.
Prior to joining Interactive, Mal McHutchison spent 3 years at Macquarie Capital. Here, he was responsible for the operating performance of the investment portfolio across Australia, China and NZ. During this time, he resided on the Boards of Domino’s Pizza China, Quadrant Energy, Mine Site Technology, Console Group and Genesis Care.
Before Macquarie, Mal was the Chief Commercial Officer at Glory Corporation where he was accountable for all commercial operations outside of Japan. This business generated around $1bn in revenues, split between services and product, with over 1,500 staff spread across 85 countries.
Mal’s past appointments include De La Rue, Cable & Wireless, and SingTel Optus where he held a number of senior sales, commercial, finance and product positions.
Mal holds a Bachelor of Economics and Master of Business Administration, and lives in Sydney with his wife and three children.
