Louise Adams is currently Chief Executive – Australia & New Zealand for global engineering and advisory services provider Aurecon. In this role Louise is responsible for operations across Australia and New Zealand. Leading approximately 4,500 people, together with the financial and operational performance to meet Aurecon’s strategic and operational business. She is a member of Aurecon’s Group Executive Leadership Team.
Prior to her current role, Louise was the Regional Director responsible for Aurecon’s operations across South Australia and Victoria. Leading a team of more than 700 people; Louise focused on building high performing teams through leadership development, strong client engagement and delivery excellence.
Louise Adams was one of only two females to graduate with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of South Australia in 1991. As a result, Louise has a passion for organisational diversity and the role it plays in innovation; and is also a passionate advocate for female leadership and equality within STEM. Through her roles as a Director of a number of Aurecon’s Boards and a member of the Group Executive Leadership Team, Louise is uniquely placed to influence positive change within Aurecon and across the industry.
In 2016 Louise received a high commendation for Female Champion of Change in Consult Australia’s Excellence Awards and in 2018. She was awarded a Chief Executive Women Scholarship to attend the Wharton Business School of the University of Philadelphia. She is also a member of Australia’s Chief Executive Women group; and is a committee member for Infrastructure Partnerships Australia’s Women’s Infrastructure Network Steering Committee. She is also the only female CEO Advisor to Consult Australia’s Male Champions of Change and appears at many industry events.
Having started her engineering career in Adelaide, Louise has travelled extensively; living and working throughout Australia and then heading overseas for 12 years prior to returning to Victoria in 2015.
As a Chartered Civil Engineer, Louise has over 20 years’ experience leading major civil and multidisciplinary projects in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Iran, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Singapore, Guyana, North America, Pakistan, Libya, Qatar, and the UAE.
