Jonathan Newhouse has been Chairman of Condé Nast International since 1991 and serves on the management board of Condé Nast US. In 1990, he moved to Paris as President of Condé Nast International. Under his direction, the organisation expanded from fewer than 30 titles in 7 countries to more than 120 in 28 markets.
Jonathan established editions of Vogue in China, Russia, Japan, India, Turkey and the Middle East. He has also expanded the company’s activities into digital, video, branded content, education, restaurants and events. He was honoured as Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters of France in 2008. In 2017 Jonathan was granted an honorary fellowship from Shenkar College, for his achievements and contribution to the fashion and publishing industries.
