Jerril Rechter

Jerril Rechter is the CEO of Basketball Australia.  With an executive-level career spanning over 20 years, Jerril is known as an innovator, a leader and an influencer. Her breadth of career experience spans government and not-for-profit sectors and she has embedded innovation at the centre of organisations she has worked with, playing a significant role in promoting health, well-being, sport and physical activity. 

Jerril is a Director of the Western Bulldogs Football Club, an Adviser of the Male Champions of Change National Group, Advisor to the World Health Organization and recent past Chair of the International Network of Health Promotion Foundations and Chair Justice Health Ministerial Advisory Council. 

Her leadership contributions have been recognised in the Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards; Winner, Victorian Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Award (Victorian Government and Academia); Finalist, National NAB Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards; Recognised Top 50 Public Sector Women (Victoria).  

Jerril is a recipient of a Centenary Medal, Tasmania Day Award, and Fellowships from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, Australia Council, Harvard Club of Australia, the Australian Davos Forum-Future Summit, and Williamson Community Leadership Program (Leadership Victoria). 

She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master of Business Leadership from RMIT University. Jerril has held executive positions at VicHealth, Leadership Victoria, Melbourne International Festival of the Arts, Footscray Community Arts Centre, and founded Stompin Youth Dance Company.
